Pakt publishing have released a new Django book called Django 1.2 E-Commerce, written by Jess Legg. I'll have a copy soon and post a review here.

In the meantime they are offering a free chapter of the book; Chapter 2 Setting up Shop in 30 minutes.

Looks they build an ecommerce app from scratch and they do not mention Satchmo. For such things, there is “Pratical django project” imho.

Not sure that reinventing the wheel is worth for such a book.

So my opinion of Pakt books' utility will not increase with this one.

Can't wait to grab a copy of that book!
